Today we will introduce some differences between cold shrink tube and heat shrink tube.
1.How to use:
Cold shrink tube:easy to install and expand on the removable supporting core, allow the tube to slide in the cable connection. After the plastic supporting core is removed, the tube begins to shrink and it plays a role of sealing protection around the cable or connection parts. In the current industry, the main raw material of cold shrink tube includes silicone rubber and EPDM rubber.
Heat shrink tube:choose a suitable size heat shrink tube and cover it one the wire joint, heat it with heating gun. Then the heat shrink tube will secure the joint.
2、Technical Performance:
Compared with heat shrink tube, cold shrink tube has excellent weather resistance,UV resistance and higher brittleness resistance.
Heat shrink tube is resistant to most chemicals and once heates,it also becomes very rigid and making it a good choice for mechanical protection.
3.Main application:
Cold shrink tube: All solid insulation(rubber and plastic). It can be buried or laid underwater for indoor, outdoor and overhead application.
Heat shrinkable tube Not suitable for high temperature or high humidity installation areas, but suitable for most industrial/commercial equipment and places requiring chemical resistance.
Heat shrink tube: Not suitable for high temperature or high humidity installation area, but suitable for most industrial equipment and places which need be chemical resistant.
