In the 3G era, there were distributed base stations, and there were two things, BBU and RRU. The BBU is the base unit and the RRU is the RF part.

After 3G, in the 4G era, it is the configuration of the BBU+RRU+ antenna feeder. The only difference is that the RRU in the 3G era is basically wall-mounted indoors, and is also connected to the antenna through a feeder. But in the 4G era, RRU is basically on the tower, saving some money for feeder. The BBU and the RRU are connected by a long fiber. Only a short jumper is connected to the antenna from the RRU. However, if the RRU fails, it will have to be taken with the tower to the tower, and it also takes up the position on the tower.
