Why do we need to provide waterpoof solution for the feeder connector of the base station? The antennas, feeders, and jumpers of the base station are connected by RF connectors. Because the base station is installed outdoor, the base station may have strong wind and rain or snow due to weather. Although There is a waterproof sealing rubber ring inside the RF connector. Due to the weather and the deformation of the rubber, water will enter the joint. The failure is due to the standing wave alarm caused by moisture and poor sealing which makes the base station unable to normal operation.
No matter which kind of waterproof treatment is applied to the base station feeder connector, we need to pass a certain waterproof test to ensure the effectiveness of the waterproof treatment.
At present, the general waterproof test level is IPX7 or IPX8 level. The IPX7 level is based on a more detailed test and judgment. Put the waterproof treated joint connector into 1m deep water, take it out after 30min, and remove the waterproof treatment. Whether there are obvious water stains inside, and whether the color-changing paper changes color with water.If none of the above phenomena appear, it means that it has passed the IPX7 test and reached the level.
For IPX8 test, the test method is also placed in 1m depth of water, but it can be said to reach IPX8 level as long as it is placed for more than 30 minutes and meets its judgment criteria. Here, the specific time to be placed in water is communicated between the manufacturer and the customer. There is no specific conditions.
