Supporing core is a necessary part material for cold shrink tube.The technical performance of supporting core will have the effect on cold shrink tube application experience. How do we choose right supporting core for cold shrink tube?

There are two main materials for cold shrink tube,one is PP,the other is PE.

PE has excellent chemical stability and is resistant to various chemical substances under room temperature. But nitric acid and sulfuric acid have a strong destructive effect on PE material.Water absorption is bad and electrical insulation is excellent.

The desity of PP material is low and it’s the lightest material among the plastic material. It carries good mechanical properties. Except impact resistance, other mechanical properties are better than PE. The transparency of PP is better than PE.

So PP material is more suitable for supporting core for its excellent technical performance.
