Heat shrink tube was originally an innovative polymer material invented in the United States in the 1950s. The main function is insulation protection and sealing. After more than 50 years of development, now heat shrink tube has been derived from a variety of materials to meet the needs of customers in different fields. 1. Inner Diameter (ID.)

We know that the cross section of the tube is cylindrical and the inner diameter is the distance between the inner walls. We usually use the letter Φ, because Φ is used to mark the diameter of the Engineering industry. Then followed by a number, indicating the value of the inner diameter, the unit is not written by default is mm, say Φ8. Inner diameter is the most important point for heat shrink tube.

2. Wall Thickness (WD)

The second Point is: wall thickness, means the thickness of the wall of heat shrink tube, and the inner diameter reflects the size of the tube. So what does this wall thickness mean? Actually, it is the thickness of a thing, and what does it influence？We know that the function of the heat shrink tube is insulation protection, then the influence of thickness is the strength of the insulation protection. We all know that the clothes are thick, so the ability of keeping warm is great; the clothes are thin, the ability to keep out the cold is small. So the wall thickness of the shrink tube affects its protective ability. So in general, the thicker the heat shrink tube, the better its protection.
