Volsun’s thick wall, Bus bar insulating heat shrink tubing provides insulation enhancement and protection against flashover, and accidentally induced discharge. Particularly useful in confined spaces, MPRS Series tubing can be used on both circular and rectangular copper and aluminum busbars.
If it is your first time using Bus bar insulating heat shrink tubing, pls refer to the following instructions.
1. Preheat busbar with torch until it feels hot to touch.
2. Slide tube over busbar into correct position excess wrinkles should be avoided.
3. Begin shrinking at one end of the tube, working the torch with a smooth brushing motion around the tube.
4. Cold spots (or dimpling ) maybe present if the busbar was not sufficiently preheated. These may be eliminated by applying more heat to the tube.
______Sometimes, customers asked us why there are some gap between tubing and busbars. This is the reason.
5. Allow the insulated busbar to cool to room temperature before trimming ends to the required length and/or punching holes in the tube.
