As 5G becomes more and more popular, the requirement for the construction of telecommunication base station is getting higher and higher and the cold shrink tube is an important insulation sleeve in the construction of communication base stations. We will first briefly introduces what is a cold shrink tube.
The cold shrinkable tube is a kind of insulation sleeve which can be pre-expanded on a sleeve made of silicone rubber or EPDM rubber on the support core. Its performance is very superior, both acid and alkali resistance and weather resistance. It is an ideal sealing material for telecommunication cables and coaxial cables.It’s very easy to install and just remove the support core after determining the position. Mainly used in the antenna feeder system of the communication base station to seal and prevent moisture at the joint between the antenna and the feeder.
Antennas and feeders need to be exposed for a long time. Rain and snow will cause the interface to get damp and even condensate will accumulate at the interface, which will increase the standing wave ratio of the antenna feed system, cause power loss, reduce the coverage of the base station, and cause the carrier frequency to fall. The cold shrink tube can seal the interface to avoid these problems.
